Toshiba’s claim of developing the new 14-megapixel camera phone has shaken the whole mobile phone industry. Although it is very tremendous news and it will give new heights to the camera phones yet nothing can be said exactly at this time, we need to wait till 2010 when this claim is supposed to get physical existence.

The expected performance of this phone is still not very obvious real photographers already know that it’s not necessarily the number of megapixels that matters most as it is the quality of the lens and algorithms/software used to shuttle physical images into “1″ and “0″ form.

Toshiba has given many scientific claims to support their product and much of them are quite impressive i.e. back-side illumination whose usage can increase light absorption up to 40%. A pictorial representation of this technology is shown in the above picture.

Although the whole scenario sounds quite impressive yet the whole world have to wait and watch, how will Toshiba company implements this technology? What sensors and software will it use for implementation? And how well this technology will be kept as a secret from other companies producing similar products?
