PlayTV Update
Sony has now released the 1.21 firmware update to its Play TV which would be helpful for recording of free to air HD channels. PlayTV will allow users to watch, pause and record live TV. PlayTV can also record individual shows, or entire series to the PS3 hard drive.
The videos can then be watched from the PS3, or can be transferred to the PSP to watch on the go. PlayTV will provide a 7-day Electronic Programmer Guide (EPG2) utilizing the “widely available” DVB-T format.
This new update to the PlayTV will let user watch one channel while recording another. PSP users can transfer saved shows onto the system’s memory stick, and will also be able to watch pre-recorded or live program from any Wi-Fi hotspot.
Recently Rock Band has taken on the rights to use The Beatles songs in a forth coming musical game version. This has been done as all three MTV Games, Harmonix, and Apple Corps are working in a collaboration to bring innovative and new fun based products.
It is planned to be released on the 9th of September. All those who use PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo will have the opportunity to drive fun out of this game, as it will be available only on these game stations. Generally practiced instruments like guitar, bass, drums and mikes will be there to enhance the fun.
According to the reports, Sony PS3 will be coming up with 3D games in 2009. PS3 is more liked amongst the gaming world comparatively, but now by its upcoming feature, it is suspected that it will win the market once again.
Sony “fully intends” to use stereoscopic 3D for their games, says Neil Schneider, CEO and President of Meant To Be Seen (world’s first stereoscopic 3D certification and advocacy group). Microsoft vs Apple has become a fable, as now we can see Apple and Microsoft vs the rest of the world. After Apple, Seattle’s tech giant has also shrugged off economic worries by posting a record $15 billion earning in the last quarter.

With their healthiest financial figures, both the companies are jumping upward the economic chill. Microsoft’s net income of $4.3 billion is enough to dwarf Apple’s $1.14 billion, but still Apple’s per share earnings are higher.
Xbox 360, which outsold the PS3 in the US , UK and Japan, has been named as one of the big ticket items of this year and aside from Xbox 360 enterprise and server software also offered good earnings.
Only a few months ago Sony had announced the 80 GIG version of the Playstation 3. Now Sony has confirmed that it will be released a doubled capacity 160 GIG version in October, arriving across the Atlantic in Europe toward the end of this month.
The new version comes with a Dualshock 3 controller along with an adventure game Unchartered: Drake’s Adventure. While the European prices have not been announced, the price for PS3 in America is said to be $499. However, Sony plans to continue selling the 80 GIG versions in the UK at the 299 Pound price from which one can infer that the doubled capacity version could be priced around 350 Pounds.
