Now there is another jewel in the iPhone 3G’s crown. A report from NPD Group shows that the iPhone 3G has surpassed the Motorola RAZR in the Q3, as it was the leading handset purchased by US adult consumers.
In US, the RAZR has been ruling as the top-selling handset for the last 12 Qs. The report is based on more than 150,000 online consumer surveys conducted each month to represent all 18 years and older US consumers.
“This replacement of the RAZR by the iPhone shows a cut-off point shift in handset design from fashion to fashionable functionality. During third quarter, four out of the five best-selling handsets had advanced Internet features and were optimized for messaging,” said Ross Rubin, who is NPD’s director of industry analysis.

Apple hasn’t announced anything officially but still we can expect to see the launch of 3rd Gen version of the iPhone at Apple’s WWDC on Monday 9 June. Every one is waiting for, let see what comes but before 9th of June you may have to hear even thousand new rumours.
“The new version is 22 percent slimmer that the previous one” this one is the latest but it doesn’t end here, the slimmer one also has 16GB to 32GB, yeah more memory and a GPS receiver to use it as personal navigator.
But what about those predictions that suggest all the new features will make the 3G iPhone even thicker as for the chrome volume up down buttons on the iPhone’s case the additional space is required.
