British Economy

BBC has earned good repute over past decades. It not only keeps people up to date, but also adds much in British economy by paying £2 on every £1, spend as license fee.

A report reveals that BBC has positive and striking impact on British economy. It’s not the first time BBC is helping British economy, in 2009-2010 BBC added £8 billion to the economy of UK. Now BBC is adding 5.6% higher as compare to previous years. BBC COO Caroline Thompson said, “The report shows that we have been spreading the economic benefits further”.

Thompson also pointed the growth aspect of BBC outside London. He said, “This evidence signals that our move to Salford Quays in the coming months will help build more thriving creative sector in the North of England”.

Live TV BetaBBC has released a beta version of Live TV streaming for Nokia mobiles. This offer is available only with two handsets right now, the Nokia N96 and Nokia XpressMusic 5800. This implies that not many amongst us will be enjoying the facility. The Live TV can be streamed by connecting to the internet via your normal browser, or Wi-Fi. The latter shows better results, obviously.

Though, officially the service is only available via Wi-Fi, but NokNok states that it is available trough the ordinary connection, too. To benefit from this facility, one has to acquire a UK TV License, which costs £142.50. If someone prefers to go on streaming the channels without having a license, he/she will be criminally liable.
