Sony PS3 is Updated for HD Recording
PlayTV Update
Sony has now released the 1.21 firmware update to its Play TV which would be helpful for recording of free to air HD channels. PlayTV will allow users to watch, pause and record live TV. PlayTV can also record individual shows, or entire series to the PS3 hard drive.
The videos can then be watched from the PS3, or can be transferred to the PSP to watch on the go. PlayTV will provide a 7-day Electronic Programmer Guide (EPG2) utilizing the “widely available” DVB-T format.
This new update to the PlayTV will let user watch one channel while recording another. PSP users can transfer saved shows onto the system’s memory stick, and will also be able to watch pre-recorded or live program from any Wi-Fi hotspot.
Other features that will come with the update include new fast-forward and rewind buttons, new volume controls and a feature that lets you skip a couple of menu items on the PSP and go straight to TV from the XMB. To carry on the update the user has to go for the software update symbol in the main menu.
This update is not only bringing new features on the Sony’s PlayTV but it is also improving the earlier features like brightness and color.
