According to the reports, Sony PS3 will be coming up with 3D games in 2009. PS3 is more liked amongst the gaming world comparatively, but now by its upcoming feature, it is suspected that it will win the market once again.
Sony “fully intends” to use stereoscopic 3D for their games, says Neil Schneider, CEO and President of Meant To Be Seen (world’s first stereoscopic 3D certification and advocacy group). The same technology will also be used in its Blu-ray movies in the upcoming year. According to the firmware update, players will be allowed to upgrade their consoles.
Neil further writes that the best part is that the console support will need only a bios upgrade. The 3D will allow the 2D objects to pop out of the screen. But, there’s still to see wether this new enhancement will increase the quality of screen images, or will it just make the images fuzzy.
Also, there are a variety of TVs available in the market. Some are there with their own 3D secrets like Mitsu, and Samsung’s PN42A450P Flat Panel HDTV. As a matter of fact, this technology didn’t get much popularity, as most of the games didn’t support it.
The question, with or without 3D, would Sony’s PS3 be having a good quality content, still remains. Sony in this regard is also a bit late to introduce its 3D in Play Station. Whereas, Wii and Xbox 360 already have this feature. For quality, the game developers at Sony will have to work really hard to reach the top.
