Sony Announces New SDK and Reference Tool for PS3
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) has announced today that it would further build up its support for game development on PlayStation 3 (PS3) computer entertainment system. For this reason, SCEI has announced a fresh version of its debugging Reference Tool (DECR-1400A) for the PlayStation 3 and a new SDK for developers.
A Software Development Kit is a set of development tools and software libraries. Developers are can obtain this SDK by signing a license agreement with SCEI and by buying tool products.
Having the same appearance as the existing PS3, this new Reference Tool allows sophisticated and advanced game programming and more efficient computer graphics representation. With its quite inexpensive price tag (US $2,000, £1600 and €1,700), this new model will appeal to a larger range of developers and publishers, and also, will help to supply a more modernized game development atmosphere, further speeding up the game development for PS3.

The Phyre Engine graphics representation engine, which was first brought up last year, is also being upgraded by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. ( SCEI ).
