Solid PhoneWe are not always sitting on our cozy sofa or comfy bed while working on our cell phone; whether we are talking or messaging, or even capturing beautiful scenes. A mobile phone is meant for portability, and thus, has to be a solid body to counter rough usage while on the move. Unfortunately most of the mobiles re delicate enough to use on working sites etc. Samsung has come up with a solution for this problem with the new Solid Extreme. As the name suggests, it is meant for facing coarse and outdoor usage.

The best features are it being water proof (to counter accidental water dips), dust proof (best for work site open-air usage) and drop proof (you can drop the phone from a height of 2 meters and nothing will happen to it). These features justify the name. Other features include one touch torch function, acoustic noise cancellation and a loud speaker.

To solidify it even more, the sides and back is coated with rubber, (which seems to be the reason behind it being drop proof). The best thing is that there is more to this little solid phone than connectivity; it features a 1.3mp camera with video recording, a media payer, an FM radio, and memory extension slot.

As for availability, the phone is already being sold at Play.com for £99.99; and will soon show up at Vodafone and O2.
