Nearly 3% of all the games transacted in the UK plunge into this category and can merely officially be sold to those aging around 18.

In the meanwhile, all other games are ranked by the Pan European Game Information system, an industry management plan.

Dr Byron recommended a hybrid plan putting BBFC rankings on the head of boxes and Pegi rankings on the back.

By pronouncing its reply to the Byron Review suggestions, culture Minister Margaret Hodge, said in a statement, “The latest system of categorization originates from a moment when video games were in their early years”.

She moreover said, “The games market place has merely outgrown the classification system, therefore for the time being we are conferring with a lot of options that would make games classification valuable and quite pertinent.”
