Microsoft Seemed Busy In Killing Its Product This Year
This year Microsoft has killed many of its previous products and the reasons were mainly the increased time of their uselessness or not coming up to the user’s expectations. So let’s review the unlucky fellows which have now lost the support from their developer, the first one is Windows XP and Windows 2000 service pack 2, Kin phones, Courier tablets, Xbox live service and Bing Cashback.
The Windows 2000 and Windows XP got a final Patch last Tuesday while Microsoft honors the XP by issuing a patch to prevent some zero-day attacks. Now it is completely the user’s choice to either go for the Windows XP SP3 or come to the new and amazing platform Windows 7.
Other than XP Kin Phones are another exciting new development from Microsoft which got killed shortly after its release. The statement of Microsoft that was given for the Kin phones stated that “Microsoft has made the decision to focus on the Windows Phone 7 launch and will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned. Additionally, we are integrating our KIN team with the Windows Phone 7 team, incorporating valuable ideas and technologies from KIN into future Windows Phone releases. We will continue to work with Verizon in the U.S. to sell current KIN phones”.
The Courier tablet was another plan by Microsoft just to compete with the apple iPad but then because of some reasons Microsoft announced that they have canceled the further development and production on its tablets project that was codenamed as Courier. Thus we can say that this year has not yet proven to be the amazing one for Microsoft and we can say it a bit unlucky for the company as many of their hot plans got failed due to many reasons.
