Microsoft has been involved in some cases of piracy concerns from the past many months and the recent update regarding that says that Microsoft has won a Chinese court case over some pirated software that was used by some local insurance company. It has been seen that Microsoft is involved in some intellectual property cases in China these days and this success will add up a point for Microsoft in this fight. By announcing the results of this case the Shanghai court ordered Shanghai-based Dazhong Insurance to pay 2.2 million Yuan to Microsoft because of the damages they were giving to Microsoft by using illegal copies of Microsoft’s software.

When given the details of this case it was reported that 450 illegal copies of software that were spanning nine different programs including Microsoft Office and Windows XP. When an employee of the Dazhong Insurance Company was contacted by some News media then he told that their company was preparing to file an appeal regarding this case. Microsoft has also got success in another such case last year when 4 people were sent to jail because of selling some popular pirated copy of Windows XP that was named as Tomato Garden. Thus the Chinese technological markets could be called as quite tougher ones for Microsoft in term of intellectual property.
