Though recession making things bad to worse in many countries of the world, the same enthusiasm is being seen for new tech gadgets on this Xmas.

However, if you are cash-strapped and still mange to have a new handsome handset, you need not to through away your unwanted and device, as you can make good money from it.

FoneBank, a cell phone exchange website says that nearly 20 percent mobile users in UK have been recycling their handsets but those who are doing so, they can recycle it for cash.

The results of a survey, to find what people do with their old handset, suggest that almost 28 percent like to put them in their drawer and nearly 23 percent chuck them out.

Fonebank director, Mark Harrison says in this connection: “It’s somewhat brainless that a considerable number of people throw their old handsets away.”

It’s not only about getting some cash, to recycle gadgets like  music players, PDAs and mobile phones have some damaging materials that can be the cause of environmental pollution.

Usually, power batteries of the handsets have poisonous materials like cadmium that has the capability to pollute water table.

The proper recycling of these old gadgets can not only give you some cash, but also help to keep your surrounding environment clean. So, think at least once before chucking them out or putting them in your closet.
