plug in electric vehiclesCharging the plug in electric vehicles is always a time consuming job and that too during the peak hours of traffic. The entire electric plugins would create traffic in the power grid. Google has come up with a solution to this which can charge these plugins in a smart way.

Its developing this software for smart charging which would use variable sources of electricity like wind or solar energy and produce instant charging of these vehicles. This search giant has taken up lots of measures to combine the IT and the ET (energy technology), as stated by the director of climate change and energy initiatives at Google.org, Dan Reicher. This software would probably help in regulating the power grid distribution.

There are lots of companies who are working on this area. But unlike other companies which are working on the usage of stored electricity in the batteries during peak times, google is working on a one way link to the grid and the car instead of the two way link between the grid and the car. This smart charging software from Google is expected to get completed in the near term. The energy R & D at Google seems to do a great job!!!
