Foxconn Planning To Raise the Pay in an Attempt to Stop the Suicides
Have you ever find out from where your iPhone, playstation and other such electronic goods are coming, it’s not just the brand which is launching them but also hundreds of those workers who develop the devices for you, foxconn is a very well known company for developing such electronics products like iPhone and playstation.
Some time ago we have seen that this company has come under criticism from the international media because at least 13 people have attempted suicide in its factories in China. Just for taking an action on this issue, the company announced a 30 percent increase in the salary of its workers.
In a statement the company declared that “The implementation of this wage increase is designed to ensure that the Foxconn workforce has a stable and more comfortable base of income. While overtime work was always voluntary, this wage increase will reduce overtime work as a personal necessity for some employees and make it a personal choice for many workers”.
It is expected that this action of the company will help to reduce the suicide attempts in future but still many medical researchers are of the belief that a complete study is required to reach the main issue that has made people to commit suicide.
It has also been reported that Foxconn has taken many measures to prevent suicide in its employees even a more increase of salary is announced for October and thus the company will soon come out of those media reports that are affecting its reputation.
