Having an Android based phone is in itself a huge compliment. Android is becoming more and more popular with every passing day. The operating system has great features and functions that attract every other user. From beautiful and attractive user interface and slick performance to the huge App market; everything is simply great about Android OS. Though the Android is absolutely fantastic as it is, but a little customization won’t hurt, I suppose.

Customization makes anything in the world your own; personalized according to your feelings, thoughts and way of living. This isn’t necessary for all of the Android users to be awfully happy with default apps Android packs in its phone sets. The App market is full of hundreds of apps that you can download and use instead of the dull and boring default apps. In fact, what is bad in personalizing your Android phone, and enjoy it even more than ever before? Here are a few tips on customizing your Android phone set.

Head towards the App Market and find some apps for you that match your personality. I know this is going to be difficult and lengthy, but who knows your choice better than your own self? Anyways, I am here to give you some fine tips.

Get a launcher app in the first place. One of the best Launcher apps is LauncherPro Plus. You can go to the Android Apps Market and download it from there. You can get the free version with almost every feature that you would want in a good launcher app. This won’t make much difference in the way you perform various tasks, but will show some other significant changes. You can boost the number of home screen up to seven, and limit it to one. Also, you can choose which home screen you want as your default home screen. The dock can be customized, too. It enables you to change the looks of your dock and scroll it horizontally with rows of different icons.

Let us move to typing business, now. These smartphones of today are all about internet browsing, emailing and messaging. All of these tasks require keyboard usage. There are many different keyboard and typing apps out there in the Android Apps Market, but the best of them is Swype. This easy to use app is highly accurate. You do not tap on the letters in order to type a word, but instead of this you swipe your finger along the letters of a specific word and the word is typed. There is another keyboard app called Better Keyboard which is unfortunately, not free. There are a number of skins to choose from according to your mood. There are different designs for keyboards.

You can choose what apps you like the most and place their widgets on your home screen. If you are concerned about the Weather, or say Twitter, all the time, have a weather widget downloaded and put it on your home screen.

By using the above mentioned tips, you can most certainly customize your phone and make it a personalized gadget that depicts your thoughts and personality. Speak out loud with your customized Android phone!
