Android 3.0 Honeycomb
Tablet-centric OS is yet not ready for open-source arena, says Google
Google has made clear that Android 3.0 Honeycomb is yet not ready for an open-source arena, and therefore this tablet-centric Operating system will still be inaccessible for third party developers.
Android 3.0 Honeycomb has been used in the tablets PC’s like Motorola Xoom, but Android’s chief executive Andy Rubin says, “I don’t want developers using it on mobile phones and creating a really bad user experience.”
He adds, “Me and my team doesn’t even know whether it would work on mobile phones, and that making it open-source immediately runs the risk of tarnishing Android’s reputation.”
