Ask.com has completed its acquisition of Dictionary.com, Reference.com and Thesaurus.com. The negotiation between Ask.com, which is considered the fourth-ranked search engine and Lexico Publishing owned three sites, was started two months back.

Ask.com that is an entirely possessed subsidiary of InterActiveCorp, declared about the total-cash deal during mid-may, however, the financial terms of the deal were not released. Lexico debuted in 1995 with Dictionary.com and working as a private company based in Long Beach, Calif.
According to Lexico, Dictioanry.com, Thesaurus.com and Reference.com were visited by 28 million unique visitors during March.

In May, Ask.com stated at the time of announcement of its buyout deal that there would be an increase of 11 percent in its unique monthly users with that acquisition.

A statistics tracker Hitwise estimates that Ask.com captured 4.23% of the U.S. search market in May. While Microsoft 5.89%, Yahoo 19.95% and Google leads them all with 68.29.
