We are not always sitting on our cozy sofa or comfy bed while working on our cell phone; whether we are talking or messaging, or even capturing beautiful scenes. A mobile phone is meant for portability, and thus, has to be a solid body to counter rough usage while on the move. Unfortunately most of the mobiles re delicate enough to use on working sites etc. Samsung has come up with a solution for this problem with the new Solid Extreme. As the name suggests, it is meant for facing coarse and outdoor usage.
Microsoft has just released an array of new games for its coming touchscreen Surface PC.
The given virtual chess and checkers board in this game is an utterly precise recreation for real life chess and checkers game and you may find it even closer to those that you have found out till today in the form of Star Wars style holo-chess.
The new games make people think how away Microsoft is to develop Surface PC with complete 3D holographic icons and characters. It has been asked from the research team behind the creation of Surface PC for quite some time, but one shouldn’t expect to hear something from them in near future.
BBC has released a beta version of Live TV streaming for Nokia mobiles. This offer is available only with two handsets right now, the Nokia N96 and Nokia XpressMusic 5800. This implies that not many amongst us will be enjoying the facility. The Live TV can be streamed by connecting to the internet via your normal browser, or Wi-Fi. The latter shows better results, obviously.
Though, officially the service is only available via Wi-Fi, but NokNok states that it is available trough the ordinary connection, too. To benefit from this facility, one has to acquire a UK TV License, which costs £142.50. If someone prefers to go on streaming the channels without having a license, he/she will be criminally liable.
As the need for GPS navigation devices increases, the leading manufacturers are trying to precede their rivals. TomTom has recently made few upgraded changes in the ONE and XL GPS units, but the best part is that they have not let the prices soar. Thus, improved TomTom GPS units can be attained for lesser prices, now.
The enhanced features include IQ Routes editions and a completely fresh black finish, thus the units look more attractive now. Also, the user interface has been improved a lot; and the coverage of European maps has been increased. The software that has been used plots routes according to the time of day or a week. Thus, the user will get the best route to choose on a Saturday evening, which will be entirely different from the one which will be chosen on a Monday morning. This is nothing less than a “Genius” feature of these newly updated devices.
There was a time when if you talked about a 3D TV, people had laughed in your face. Situation is no more like this now. 3D televisions are no more science fiction gadgets; they are soon going to be available in the markets for real. Sky will begin to broadcast in 3D by the Christmas this year. Also LG and some other brands are planning to release 3D compatible TVs this year. Thus, this year is going to give a boom to 3D TV market.
