The Parkinson’s disease can be Early Detected by Sleep Disorders
The sleeping disorder is very common nowadays and the reason for that may be different but a recent study has shown that a certain type of sleeping disorder may be an early earning of the Parkinson’s disease or some other type of neurological disorders.
The main disorder that has been reported to be a symptom of this disease is actually a condition in which people violently act out their dreams during the rapid eye movement cycle of sleep.
This disorder has been reported to have deep relations with the Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders.
Dr. Michael Thorpy, director of the Sleep-Wake Disorders Center at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City said that “This is important for us understanding the progression of the disease because this RBD obviously precedes other clinical manifestations of Parkinson’s by many years”.
This connection between the RBD and Parkinson’s has been previously notified by some researchers of the Mayo clinic and this one was reported by Boeve, a professor of neurology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn and according to him “Some people tell us that their wedding night — that was the first time couples slept together back in those days” and further “Wives would report ‘I got punched. I didn’t know what I would be enduring for decades to come”.
But the physicians are still not satisfied with it and according to Dr. Carlos Singer, professor of neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine “unless we find another clue how to distinguish [those who do progress and those who don't] at an early stage”.
So this indicates that future work is required in this case so that we can get this confirmation that either these two terms are interrelated or not.
