The report of this new research got published in The Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM).

According to William Herman, MD, MPH, of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and senior author of the study “Our study shows that increased fracture risk is associated with higher TZD dose, but no difference between rosiglitazone and pioglitazone is apparent suggesting a class effect of TZDs on fracture risk”.

The study from its complete analysis of patients and their fractures has concluded this result but still the doctors are of the belief that the future trails are required to see what is the actual harm?, which is associated with the drugs that the patients take during the Type 2 Diabetes.

According to Herman “Future studies, particularly long-term, prospective randomized clinical trials will be needed to conclusively demonstrate small to moderate harm”. So let’s see what kind of findings are going to be released in future regarding this issue.
