The Child Obesity Risk Can Be Prevented At Schools
The child obesity is a very major risk for the health of children nowadays and it is spreading rapidly due to the increased usage of junk food, a recent study has found out that the school based efforts for better nutrition; better exercise and improved education can effectively help those kids who are at higher risk of child obesity.
The team of researchers which carried out this study also suggests that the child obesity develops only in those children who have got weight problem throughout their life and these school-based activities can best help those children while the other children who don’t have risks of obesity can remain smart even in those schools where such activities are not performed.
Gary D. Foster, a professor of medicine and public health and director of the Center for Obesity Research and Education at Temple University, Philadelphia while discussing about this study said that “there were small [weight-loss] effects of about 3 percent. Although that’s small, it’s enormous given the rates of obesity in this country,” and further “This was an unexpected but fortunate finding — that we are actually impacting the kids at the greatest risk “.
Thus this report should be shown to the government officials as if such an implication for the school-based activities is made at an every school then the problem of child obesity might be prevented from the lives of many children
