Pepsi Cutting Salt, Sugar and Saturated Fats from Its Products
This Sunday PepsiCo has announced that they have plans to cut the levels of salts, sugar and saturated fats in its top selling products which will thus make the products more health friendly.
Frito-Lay and Quaker brands is the company which owns the Pepsi has revealed their plan of reducing about 25 percent the average sodium per serving in the major global food brands in the key markets by 2015.
Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo chairman and chief executive officer while discussing about this issue said that “We believe that a healthier future for all people and our planet means a more successful future for PepsiCo”.
It was further told by the company that “These commitments are shared by all of our businesses and reflect our focus on profitable, long-term growth and will guide us as we continue to build a portfolio of enjoyable and wholesome foods and beverages for consumers around the world” thus we can expect some good products from the company in future which will not affect the health of people who will use them.
Not only PepsiCo but some other food companies of US have been reported to have taken such steps and the main among them are ConAgra Foods Inc and Kraft Foods Inc. So now the health giving products will be provided by the companies in future.
