On April 15 edition, a report was published in the Medical Journal Clinical Infectious Disease which says it is found that most of the poultry and meat is contaminated with Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria. The study shows that 47% of meat samples were contaminated with the Bacteria known as Staphylococcus Aureus. It is also known as Staph Bacteria.
Meat and Poultry Contamination
A senior author Lance B. Price who is head of Tgen’s Center for Food Microbiology and Environmental Health says that it is the first time we come to know how much meat and poultry contains Antibiotic Resistant Staph Bacteria. It is a true fact. Staph can cause many disorders like Respiratory Infection and other Fatal diseases such as Sepsis, Pneumonia and Endocartditis. The use of Multi- drug Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus is prevailing in the hospitals of U.S because bacteria is resistant to many antibiotic drugs which are used to treat the infections of the patients.
The researchers analyzed 136 samples of 80 brands of Beef, Turkey, Pork, Mutton and Chicken from 26 supermarkets located at Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C and Arizona. The findings of the study showed that 47 % of samples were contaminated with the Staphylococcus and 52% of meat contained other Bacteria which were resistant to three types of Antibiotics.

Researchers say that there is no link between high C-Section rates and healthier new born babies. The study published in Journal of Maternal –Fetal and Neonatal Medicine shows that Cesarean Section delivery may not lead to healthy new born.
J. Christopher Glantz MPH a Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine says that the high or low induction rate of labor and high or low rates of C-Section does not seem to effect the health of the baby, if the health of the baby is not improved then one should try for the lower rates of c-section.
Glantz studied the labor induction rate and the C-Section delivery rates in 10 hospitals in Finger Lakes area of New York between 2004 and 2008. The study showed that these rates significantly vary and it had no effect on the health of newborns.
