Sherita Hill Golden, M.D, M.H.S (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore) and colleagues investigated men and women under the age of about 45-84 years who signed up in a study between 2000 and 2002 and were followed up between 2004 and 2005.
The investigators tested the directional relationship between depression symptoms and type 2 diabetes through studying the fasting blood glucose intensity and depressive symptoms.
The scientists used High scores on the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and anti-depression medicines for exploring the high symptoms of depression.
The blood glucose levels were used to differentiate every patient while having normal fasting glucose, scar fasting glucose and type2 diabetes.
The analysis showed that about 52% high risk of developing prominent depressive symptoms for those with treatment of type 2 diabetes. On the other hand, no swelling risks were noted for individuals with untreated type 2 diabetes.
So, we can conclude that both depression and diabetes are interlinked with each other and they certainly are destructive and annoying for type 2 diabetes Patients.
