Hovering Swine Flu Fears: Cases Reach Over 6,000 Worldwide

It wasn’t so in Mexico despite all the brunt of the infection, but in China only few cases of swine flu have come into light so far and mask-wearing Chinese can be seen everywhere to avoid other making contact with the current victim of the disease.

The current surge of the disease seems quite weak, but due to the hovering fears Governments of different countries look quite skittish about the spread of the disease and to contain it. The Japanese national women soccer team had to cancel their North America tour, as a large number of swine flu cases have emerged in this part of the world.

A large number of people, those had come in contact with infected plane and train travel from the US and Canada, were quarantined in different hospitals, hotels and homes and according to a report from the US Embassy most of the people that were quarantined were American citizens. Now almost 33 countries are reporting about the cases of swine flu and according to some estimates there are over 6000 confirmed swine flu cases in the world and nearly 3009 cases out of them have been found in different US states while 2444 cases reported in Mexico and 358 cases in Canada.

Mexican health official Jose Angel Cordova says that nearly 9000 sick cases have been tested in Mexico and only 2.5% confirmed dead cases were from Mexico that indicates the virus is not so horrible, as it was being considered and often Pneumonia that comes up with regular seasonal flu often claims more lives than that, as it killed nearly 9500 people in Mexico during the last year.

But despite all that facts and figures, swine flu fears still seem to hover and different countries are taking precautionary measures against the disease.
