Susceptibility to HIV
While addressing to the forum Daniel Tarantola, a professor of human rights and health at the University of New South Wales, stated that people of the developing countries are indirectly increasing the susceptibility to HIV because of the global warming. The Professor was of the view this change in climate will activate such chain of events in the society that will enlarge stress to the society and may result the outbreak of the disease at greater level.
National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research
David Cooper who is director of National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research at the University of New South Wales stated that there was a negative impact of climate change on those people who are a victim of HIV. This climate change will also lead towards such circumstance that would prove very helpful in the outbreak of that disease.
16,000 cases daily
According to Cooper there is no hope to fight against the disease in a better way as almost 16,000 cases daily are being daily reported worldwide and still scientists have not succeeded to create a suitable vaccine or treatment to prevent that disease. Cooper further added that there is a dire need of such vaccine as may prove a weapon to stop the way of that dangerous killer all around the world.
Protective measures
Besides, the creation of vaccine another dire need is to make people aware about preventive measures against the disease. Protective measures like use of condoms among male must be common and there must also be compulsory regular tests for HIV among the prostitutes.
