A new study on the affects of Bone strengthening drug has shown some very amazing results and it has been reported that bone-strengthening drug zoledronic acid (Zometa) reduces the spread of breast cancer by preventing chemotherapy-related bone loss.

It has been reported that the tumor cells released from the primary breast cancer site often travels to the bone marrow and from there it spreads to others areas of body.

The further details showed up from the study suggests that zoledronic acid, that is proved to reduce bone loss by slowing down the activity of cells that destroy bones can also make bone marrow a less inviting place for cancer cells.

It has also been notified from the research that zoledronic acid also prevents chemotherapy related bone-loss. The study was conducted on the group of 120 female patients and after the treatment fewer tumor cells were detected in the women who have taken Zoledronic acid as compared to those who have not provided these drugs. The patients with lower bone mineral density have also seen to be getting normal bone density after taking Zoledronic acid.
