First time parents got a set of quintuplets here at Staten Island University Hospital on Saturday. Hospital, spokesperson Christian Preston said that the mother and her five children were in perfect health. Out of which are four girls and one boy.
Quintuplet is a set of five children born out of one pregnancy. Twins and more children are born mostly as a result of taking child birth control pills and other contraceptives. This set of quadruplets was definitely a joyous thing that the couple experienced.
Mr. Preston refused to give the names of the family. But Tony Scherillo told the Staten Island Advance that the quintuplets are his grandson and granddaughters, and Jamie and Kevin, the parents are his daughter and son-in-law.
The whole family was extremely excited about the event, “nobody could believe it”, said Tony. The grandfather of the newly born told that “everybody was ecstatic” to learn about Jamie and Kevin expecting five children. Grandfather Tony also told the names the babies were given as: Allesia Louise, Amanda Frances, Ella Lilliana, Emily Ann and Matthew Sabatino.
All the babies were delivered within 6 minutes by C-section. Their weight according to hospital records are 1 pound, 8 ounces, to about 2 pounds, 4 ounces.
