Babies Are Quick Learners Even If Sleeping or Awaken
Babies have always being considered as quite good and intelligent learners as they focuses on each and every thing that happens around them, a recent study has revealed that even if the baby is sleeping he can apparently learn.
As we all know that a newborn baby spends most of his time while sleeping and this new found ability might be crucial to rapidly adapt to the world and help to ensure their survival, as reported by researchers.
The study was taken on 26 sleeping infants each was just one to two days old, the scientists played a musical tone in front of those babies that was followed by puff of air to their eye, this procedure was repeated 200 times in half an hour.
The findings were truly amazing and it was also seen that a network of 124 electrodes stuck on the scalp and face of each baby also reduced the brain’s activity during the course of experiment. One of the researchers William Fifer, a developmental neuroscientist at Columbia University in New York while discussing about the findings said that “We knew that a baby’s job is to be an information gatherer, a data sponge, but I don’t think we realized this also happens when they’re sound asleep”.
Thus in a nutshell we can say that for a little baby learning is the only activity and this activity is not even affected if he is sleeping or awaken.
