LONDON – The risk of developing a possibly fatal blood clot is more than double among menopausal women who receive hormone-replacement therapy pills, French researchers notified on Friday.
The risk was particularly higher in the first year of treatment as suggested by the review of 17 studies. The reviews were reported in the British Medical Journal. One of the common causes of heart attacks and strokes are the blood clots in the arteries while vein clots may kill if move through the body of the lungs.
According to the meta- analysis the use oral estrogen increases blood clots risk by two to three- folds, Stated Pierre-Yves Scarabin and Marianne Canonico of the Paul Brousse Hospital, France.

The city has a plan to form a special ambulance service whose crew will not only at once collect the newly dead but also manage to save the body to take the organs for transplant.
This “rapid-organ-recovery ambulance” is in the early planning stages and it can be expected that it will have to face some ethical queries and also be considered gruesome by some families. However, top medical officials of the Fire department and Bellevue Hospital are of the view that this service has the prospective of saving hundreds of lives.

Risk of cancer is 14% higher in people with periodontal disease history than those who didn’t have this disease and the increase persisted among never smokers, stated Dominique Michaud, lead researcher and a cancer epidemiologist at Imperial College London, U. K.
According to some experts, an increased amount of inflammatory markers circulate in the blood of People who have gum infections and this inflammation is associated to cancer. However, it is still unclear whether an exact link between gum disease and cancer exists or not.
This new finding is needed to be examined in other populations mainly among women but these finding have confirmed that oral health at least some impact on the risk of cancer, Michaud stated
The scientists have conducted a research that the most aging people have wiser brain than the adults. In this regard, the scientists have argued about the theory of consciousness and unconsciousness which is directly linked to cognitive structure of humans.
They are of the view that older people have intellectual brain than the adults due to some important reasons such as knowledge, societal experiences, financial understanding, political value, religious issues, domestic experiences and ethnic incidents.
The aged people are more intelligent than the young people due to practicality all around the world. In this way, the researchers are saying that it is practical experience that makes aged people wise in their society. For example, you would often observe old age people in some sort of quietness and serious situation.
