WASHINGTON (AP): Diabetes medications became the major issue for the drug-makers, because these are costing millions of dollars to the companies under strong recommendations.

The officials of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) voted 14-2 that all newly manufactured diabetes drugs must go through in-depth studies to assure they don’t raise risks of heart attacks.

The recommendations from different diabetes experts, cardiologists and statisticians became lesser than a year, while the FDA was reprimanded for its managing of heart risks connected with an extensively used GlaxoSmithKline pill.

The drug was approved during the period of 1999, but the group didn’t put in a caution about latent heart menaces until last November.

Meanwhile, the agency approved many diseases like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, anxiety and depression and the FDA committed, “we do merely need to launch those products for these diseases which are sufficient, easy to buy and worthwhile”.
