Chocolates have been reported to be good for the heart patients, a group of German researchers have concluded that small doses of chocolates everyday could decrease your risks of getting heart attacks for up to 40 percent.

The group of researchers has actually followed nearly 20,000 people for about eight years; the procedure involved sending different questionnaires to the people regarding their diet and exercise routines.

It has been found that people who consume a square bar a chocolate per day have 39 percent less chances of getting heart attack or strokes.

Brian Buijsse, a nutritional epidemiologist at the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Nuthetal, Germany and also the study’s leading author while discussing about their findings said that “It’s a bit too early to come up with recommendations that people should eat more chocolate, but if people replace sugar or high-fat snacks with a little piece of dark chocolate, that might help”.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a disorder of sleep and in which breathe is regular but with some pauses. Apnea is the term used for every pause of breathes.

Normally these episodes of apnea happen throughout the sleep and it is diagnosed with EEG or by a sleep study called polysomnogram.

This pause of breathe is considered as a disorder and called sleep apnea when each pause is having a minimum interval of 10 seconds within two breathes.

Apnea having more than five or more pauses per hour is clinically considered as significant one and this apnea is generally classified in to three categories, namely, obstructive, central and complex. Lack of respiratory effort causes the central sleep apnea and blockage in the air way causes the obstructive type and almost a combination both central and obstructive type forms the complex type. This disorder long lasts for years and the sufferer even does not aware of his illness and in many cases it is identified only by others nearer to them. In this long journey of episode the patient becomes addict to day time sleeping with much fatigue and suffers from sleep disturbance.

This Sunday PepsiCo has announced that they have plans to cut the levels of salts, sugar and saturated fats in its top selling products which will thus make the products more health friendly.

Frito-Lay and Quaker brands is the company which owns the Pepsi has revealed their plan of reducing about 25 percent the average sodium per serving in the major global food brands in the key markets by 2015.

Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo chairman and chief executive officer while discussing about this issue said that “We believe that a healthier future for all people and our planet means a more successful future for PepsiCo”.

Sling carriers for babies have become very common now days because of the ease which they bring in carrying a baby and keeping him close to yourself whether you are at work, at home, or doing a walk.

Recently US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has made this announcement that they are researching 14 infants deaths linked to the sling-style baby carriers over the last 20 years and the three cases are from last year. Basically the sling carrier is made up of a very soft cloth and gives a look of a sling that you wear when your arm is broken; the ease of carrying baby in the sling carriers is too much because you don’t need to hold the baby and hands get relatively free when baby gets hangs over your chest.
