A research group of Tel Aviv University has done a very comprehensive study of clinical data on Vitamin E use and heart diseases and it has warned that indiscriminate use of such Vitamins can give more harm than cure.
The results of this research have been declared on ATVB, a leading journal of cardiology. The research was carried on about 300,000 subjects in US, Europe and Israel and it has been concluded that these vitamins are good for some people and for some others they are quite harmful.
The conclusion of this research have made other researchers to work on these Vitamins so that it can be find out that under what circumstances these should be used and for what conditions they should be avoided, the research team which has given this conclusion has also been working on this thing and hopefully the future researches will give a clear set of criteria under which Vitamin E should be used or not used.
Tobacco Tax
Japan has been long considered as a smoker’s paradise but now Japanese government has been planning to take some very significant steps to remove this tag from their country.
And this Tuesday in a meeting the Japanese officials said that they are planning to raise the tax on tobacco and the implementation will start in the next year. The cabinet in that meeting approved the proposal that aims to hike the duty by 3.5 yen a cigarette.
This new proposal seems to fulfill the government’s plans to reduce smoking as the price of each cigarette will rise to quite a high amount. The move is expected to raise the price of each cigarette of about 5 yen and of that 1.5 yen would go to the makers and retailers. This rise will put Japan into the list of those developed countries which are putting high prices for the cigarettes.
