US lawmakers have polled in favor of a new bill that has been presented to impose a 90% tax on those huge bonuses that come from the companies that have been aided by taxpayers.
The step has been taken after AIG announcement of granting its employees with huge $165m in bonuses. AIG has recently taken $170bn bailout from the US government.
According to Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, “The US government wants their money back and we want it now for the taxpayers.”
