After posting a final message about singing in her nursing home, Australian Olive Riley who was described as the world’s oldest Internet blogger died at the age of 108.
“Olive Riley passed away peacefully on July 12 leaving thousands of Internet friends and other relatives mournful,” a note on her website says
She had been posting more than 70 entries on her site since February ‘07 and in most of them she shared her thoughts and experiences that she got living through the entire 20th century.
Riley was born on October 20, 1899 , saw two world wars and while doing different jobs like cook, ranch and barmaid, she raised three children.
On June 26, she wrote in her final post: “I don’t think, I’ll be here in this nursing home for more than a week.”
According to Riley’s great grandson Darren Stone, “Her blog on www.allabouttolive.com.au and recently at http://worldsoldestblogger.blogpost.com was somewhat mind-blowing to her.”
He also told AAP news agency that she had online-friends as far away as Russia and America and she used to communicate with them on continual basis, not just off and on and they all will miss her a lot”
